FNLM Nursing Informatics Annual Award

2025 Nominations Now Being Accepted

We are pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the Friends of the National Library Medicine Nursing Informatics Award (FNLM). This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding contributions of nurses who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in the field of nursing informatics.

The FNLM Nursing Informatics Award honors those who have shown a passion for improving healthcare through the integration of technology and data management, advancing patient care, and enhancing nursing practice. The award highlights individuals who have made a lasting impact in the development or implementation of informatics practices within the nursing profession. We invite you to nominate a nurse who embodies these qualities and who has made significant strides in the field of nursing informatics.

Nomination Requirements

Nominees must:

• Be an active member of the Friends of the National Library of Medicine;
• Have demonstrated leadership in the integration of technology into nursing practice;
• Contributed significantly to the improvement of healthcare outcomes through informatics;
• Shown dedication to the advancement of the nursing profession through innovative use of data and digital tools;
• And, been actively involved in education, research, or policy development related to nursing informatics.

Documentation Requirements

Nominations must be in writing and contain the following: 

• The official nomination form.
• A precise description of the nominee’s achievements (no more than 5 pages double-spaced) detailing the nature and quality of the nominee’s work along with the impact of this work on the community served, with emphasis on the nominee’s significant professional achievements in the field of Nursing Informatics.
• Any additional information that would assist the committee in the evaluation of the nomination and selection of the recipient (no more than ten additional pages.)

• Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.
• All nominations must be received by March 8, 2025.
